South West Regional champions Sarisbury Junior School aim for national title

Year 6 boys at Sarisbury Junior School were thrilled to win the English Schools’ Football Association Under 11s championship match in Keynsham, Bristol.

This means the players will be going head-to-head with seven other regional finalists for the National Schools Championship title at Watford Academy training ground on May 19.

The school represented Hampshire at the South West regional finals after they were victorious in the 2011 Hampshire seven-a-side tournament at Wide Lane.

Simon Munsie, team coach for the school in Allotment Road, said: “Sarisbury has had an outstanding season showing excellent attitudes and sportsmanship throughout.

“We won the Fareham and Gosport schools league having competed over several months and coming out on top in plenty of well fought games.

“We are all exceptionally proud of the team and their achievements this year and recognise the commitment on both players, parents and staff. We are right behind them for the National Finals and hope we can do Hampshire and Sarisbury proud!”
